Welcome to the independence insider!
We are about to enter the last stretch of post production! The composer is preparing the musical score, orchestration and arrangements, the sound designer is building the sound mix and the editor is working on color correction and visual effects. Next month we will be recording with musicians in Denver and after a final sound mix, we will begin submitting to film festivals around the world.
As you may know, we submitted our rough cut to Sundance last fall and we were not accepted to the festival. Despite a bit of disappointment, we were pleased we had time to finish the film the way that we wanted to before submitting to other festivals. Recently, however, the woman who screened our Sundance festival submission called us to wish us luck and to let us know that although it didn’t get into the festival, she thought independence was a good piece and felt that it deserved to have a wide audience. Needless to say, we were very pleased that she enjoyed the movie and took the time to encourage us in our process. We hope this bodes well for the future of the project!!

As most independent companies find, the last stretch into preparing the final cut can be extremely challenging and as we go into our last lap, we could benefit from any donation you care to make. Currently, we are putting together a fund for musicians. It is a little sparse at the moment and we'd like to make sure that we treat our musicians well!
